Neta Automobile, the electric vehicle (EV) brand of Chinese company Hozon Auto, has officially entered Thailand at a time when several of its local counterparts are focusing their overseas expansion efforts on Europe.
Neta announced the launch of the right-hand-drive version of the Neta V at a launch event in Thailand on August 24, the first model it will offer there.
Since its debut at a Thailand auto show in March, the Neta V has gained a lot of local fans, the company said in a press release today.
A large number of Neta V right-hand-drive versions have recently been shipped to Thailand and deliveries to local consumers will begin soon, Neta said.
Neta V is expected to deliver 3,000 units in Thailand by the end of this year, it said.
Neta currently has 25 authorized dealers in Thailand, covering Bangkok, surrounding provinces and other major Thai cities, it said.
By the end of this year, the number of Neta authorized dealers in Thailand will reach 30, it said, adding that it will also open Neta Spaces in shopping malls.
Neta will provide Thai consumers with 24-hour emergency assistance services and, in conjunction with local partners, offer charging services for Neta vehicles, it said.
Currently, Neta vehicles can enjoy charging services at over 450 charging sites in Thailand.
Neta currently offers the Neta V and Neta U in China, targeting the low-end market with starting prices of RMB 79,900 and 123,800 respectively.
On July 31, Neta officially launched its flagship sedan Neta S, with a price range of RMB 199,800 - 338,800 yuan. Deliveries of the car will begin in China in the fourth quarter.
In Thailand, the Neta V right-hand drive version has a length, width and height of 4,070 mm, 1,690 mm, 1,540 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,420 mm.
The model is powered by a single motor with a maximum power of 70 kW and a maximum torque of 150 Nm and has an NEDC range of 384 km, Neta said.
The Neta V right-hand-drive version also supports V2L external discharge and can be readily used as a mobile power source, it said.
The company did not announce a price for the Neta V in Thailand.
By the end of July, cumulative Neta V sales in China had topped 100,000 units, according to the company.
In September last year, Neta said it would make Thailand its first stop after announcing plans to enter the ASEAN new energy vehicle market.
In November last year, Neta announced that it had signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with PTT Public Company Limited of Thailand to jointly develop the local market.
