Nio's video makes the ES7 look more appealing than the look that was previously revealed in regulatory filings.
Nio (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866, SGX: Nio) today released its first teaser video for the ES7, just one day before the model's launch.
The short video released by the electric carmaker only shows the same LiDAR and camera setup on top of the vehicle as Nio's ET7 and ET5 sedans, as well as the logo on the front end.
Nio will launch the product online on June 15 at 20:00 Beijing Time, and it will be a new member of the Nio product family, its poster reads.
The company will live-stream the event on platforms including the Nio app, Nio.com, Weibo, Facebook, and YouTube.
Although not explicitly mentioned by Nio, the product is apparently the ES7, the first Nio SUV built on the NT 2.0 platform.
Previous regulatory filings have shown the SUV's exterior, making it appear less mysterious, but Nio's preview video today clearly makes the model look more attractive.
Nio originally planned to unveil the ES7 in April, but the plan was forced to be postponed with the outbreak of the Covid outbreak in Shanghai.
The Nio ES7, a large five-seat SUV based on the company's NT 2.0 platform, is expected to begin mass production and deliveries in late August, company founder, chairman and CEO William Li said during a June 9 earnings call.
Nio's development for the ES7 has been on schedule, but the launch was delayed due to Covid, so it looks like the model will have a short timeline from launch to delivery, Li said.
On June 11, CnEVPost has received an invitation to Nio's new product launch event to be held on June 15.
The invitation did not reveal any information about the upcoming new products, but the ES7, 2022 ES6, EC6 and ES8, as well as plans for hardware upgrades to existing models being announced are to be expected.
