The Xpeng P5 was officially launched on September 15, with a price range of RMB 157,900 ($24,500) to RMB 223,900 after subsidies.
Notably, Xpeng announced earlier this month that it delivered 10,412 vehicles in September, the first time in its history that it has exceeded the 10,000-unit threshold.
The P5 delivered 244 units in September, the first delivery of the model, according to the company.
On September 17, two days after the official launch of the P5, Xpeng said that the model accumulated 6,159 orders in 24 hours.
Of these new orders, 90 percent of customers chose models that support its self-driving assistance system XPILOT 3.5 as well as XPILOT 3.0.
It is worth noting that this does not mean that all of these users subscribed to Xpeng's assisted driving service, as they had to spend extra money.
The company said that 54 percent of those subscribers chose a LiDAR-equipped model.
Xpeng debuted a new nomenclature for the P5 model, with the P representing the model's highest level of intelligence, followed by the E and G. The numbers in the names of the different models represent their NEDC range.
The P series, with the highest intelligence rating, offers a choice of 550 km and 600 km NEDC range, while the E-Class and G series both offer a choice of 460 km and 550 km range.
Among these models, only two models of the P series are equipped with LiDAR, priced at RMB 199,900 and 223,900 respectively.
They can allow users to pay for a subscription to XPILOT 3.5 at a standard price of RMB 45,000, and users will be able to enjoy a discounted price of RMB 25,000 if they subscribe before delivery.
The two E-Series models are priced at RMB 177,900 and RMB 192,900 respectively. They allow users to pay for a subscription to XPILOT 3.0 at a standard price of RMB 36,000, and users will be able to enjoy a discounted price of RMB 20,000 if they subscribe before delivery.
The two models of G series are priced at RMB 157,900 and RMB 172,900 respectively and do not support XPILOT system.
