Proposed by the Beijing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation in January, Beijing's new regulations prohibiting gasoline vehicles from occupying charging spaces took effect on April 1.

Under the new regulations, staff at manually assisted charging stations should manage the parking environment to prevent fuel vehicles from occupying charging spaces.

Self-service charging stations should use technologies that include intelligent, integrated charging and parking to address the problem of non-charging vehicles and completed charging vehicles occupying charging spaces.

The specification proposes that charging stations must be equipped with staff for inspection. In manually assisted charging stations, the frequency of inspection shall be no less than once a day.

Self-service charging stations should be graded according to the location and utilization rate of the inspection frequency management, the number of inspections is not less than once every three months.

According to the new specification, if a fuel vehicle is found to occupy a charging berth, the staff shall inform the vehicle owner to drive away from the berth immediately.

The specification proposes that charging stations in public service areas, charging stations within institutions, and public charging stations within residential areas should choose suitable times to open to the public and inform the conditions required for entering charging vehicles.
