Chinese electric car company Motors (NYSE: XPEV) announced in September that it would provide free lifetime charging service for Xpeng's first non-operating car owners who charge their cars at designated charging stations in selected cities. The company said today that from October 30, the service will cover new cities such as Haikou, Huizhou, Quanzhou, Weifang, Shantou, and Zhuhai.

So far, Xpeng has launched the free charging service in 30 cities in China, out of the 24 cities where the service has been launched before.

Different from the free lifetime charging claimed by other car companies, Xpeng free charging service is not limited to Xpeng's self-built supercharging station.

Car owners can also enjoy the free lifetime charging service provided by Xpeng Supercharger at the preferred charging stations of the State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, China Telecom, Star Charging, Orange Charging, and other third-party charging network operators.

In addition to increasing the number of cities covered by free charging service, Xpeng has also solved the painful demand of car owners in building their own supercharging stations.

In order to ensure charging safety and station operation order, Xpeng Supercharging adopts backstage networking technology, which can realize 24-hour monitoring of station operation status and detect potential pile faults in time to reduce the impact of pile faults on car owners' charging experience.

Currently, EV owners' worries about their vehicles have gradually changed from range anxiety to charging anxiety.

The range of today's mainstream electric vehicles is around 500 km, which can basically meet the urban commuting needs of car owners.

The car companies and third-party charging operators, accelerating the construction of the number of charging piles, as well as improving charging efficiency, is also the optimal solution to the current charging anxiety of car owners.
