Chinese EV maker (NYSE: NIO) today released a video of the production inside its Hefei factory, allowing the outside world to witness how the Nio ES6 car is made.

The video shows the process of how a ES6 goes from a sheet of aluminum to a complete car, allowing more consumers to learn how Nio builds high-end luxury cars.

In the stamping workshop at Nio's Hefei factory, a sheet of aluminum is gripped by a robot arm and pushed underneath a stamping machine, which then presses it into various aluminum components.

The Nio ES6 is built with an all-aluminum body, which is stronger and lighter than a steel body, and of course, more costly more expensive.

In the body welding shop, the aluminum components are loaded onto a mold platform. They are then riveted and welded into various body assemblies, and finally, after an adjustment process to adjust positioning and tolerances, they become a complete body in white.

The vehicle is then transported on a conveyor belt to the paint shop where, after an electrophoresis pool, the body has the initial ability to resist rust and corrosion. The metal parts of the body perform more consistently.

They are then painted by paint robots with a variety of customized body colors.

As a final step, the vehicle is sent to the final assembly plant. After assembly of the battery pack, drive motor and various interior components, the vehicle is assembled into a complete ES6.

After various tests, the vehicle is taken off the production line and transported across the country for delivery to consumers.
