recently announced on Weibo that the Huawei Autopilot operating system kernel (including virtualization mechanism) has been awarded the highest level of functional safety certification in the safety field (ISO 26262 ASIL D), making it the first operating system kernel in China to receive ASIL D certification.

The field of self-driving is no longer exclusive to traditional car manufacturers. Major technology companies have entered the game, trying to win in this new round of technology competition.

As a well-known domestic technology research and development giant, Huawei is also early layout and has achieved good results.

The kernel was also previously awarded the highest level of information security certification in the security field (CC EAL 5+) in September 2019. Huawei's Autopilot OS kernel has now become the industry's first commercial OS kernel with dual high certifications for Security and Safety.

In addition to the Autopilot operating system kernel, Huawei Intelligent Electric, Autopilot Full Stack Solution and MDC Intelligent Driving Computing Platform have all been awarded ISO 26262 Functional Safety ASIL Level D certification.

In addition to developing autopilot hardware and software services, Huawei has also deployed an autopilot cloud service, also known as HUAWEI Octopus.

Together with Huawei's MDC Intelligent Driving Computing Platform and Intelligent Driving OS, it forms a collaborative intelligent driving platform, which can effectively help car enterprises and developers to quickly develop self-driving applications and help self-driving to land on the ground quickly.

Previously, news has emerged that Huawei is working with European, Japanese and Chinese automakers to launch self-driving cars as early as 2021.
