The Model Y saw year-on-year declines in China retail sales for six out of the first eight months, ahead of the deliveries of the six-seat Model Y L that began earlier this month.

The Nio main brand recorded 2,530 insurance registrations last week, Onvo 2,650, and Firefly 1,090.

This marks Tesla's sixth year-on-year decline in China retail sales during the first eight months of this year.

Since its launch on August 19, the Model Y L has received 120,000 orders, averaging nearly 10,000 daily, according to a local media report.

In January-August, Tesla China sold 515,552 vehicles, including exports to overseas markets, representing a 12.24 percent year-on-year decline.

Chinese customers who currently order the Model Y L are expected to get their vehicles in October.

Onvo's registrations last week totaled 3,673 units, down 10.50 percent from the previous week's 4,104 units. Both Nio and Firefly brands saw growth.

Tesla has reduced the price of its 830-km Model 3 in China by RMB 10,000 yuan ($1,400), less than a month after its August 12 launch.

Nio Inc's new order flow is estimated to be around 57,000 units in August, primarily driven by strong demand for the Onvo L90 SUV.

Onvo's registrations last week totaled 4,104 units, marking the second-highest on record, up 8.28 percent from the previous week's 3,790 units.
