Tesla's Fremont factory will transition its Model S and Model X production lines to the Optimus production line.

Tesla has stopped taking orders for Model S and Model X in China, likely due in part to a worsening trade war that has hit both imported models.

Tesla is offering discounts of RMB 35,000 to RMB 45,000 in China for the full lineup of Model S and Model X, which saw deliveries in the country begin at the end of March.

Starting May 5, Chinese consumers who order a new Model S or Model X and have the vehicle delivered by September 30 will receive the benefit.

Tesla raised the prices of the entire new Model S and Model X lineup in China by about 2 percent, following price increases for the locally produced Model 3 and Model Y three days ago.

Deliveries of the new Model S and Model X have begun in the Chinese mainland, nine years after the first Tesla vehicle entered the country in 2014.
