Automakers' share of China NEV market in Jan: BYD tops with 26.9%, Tesla 6th with 4.5%
- BYD's January share of China's NEV market was lower than its December 2024 share of 31.0 percent.
- In the overall passenger car market, which includes conventional internal combustion engine vehicles, Geely ranked first with a 13.4 percent share, ahead of BYD's 11.2 percent.
Li Auto Jan deliveries breakdown: Li L6 13,990, Li L7 6,493
- The Li L6, Li Auto's least expensive, contributed 46.75 percent of January deliveries.
- The Li Mega, Li Auto's highest priced model, delivered 807 units in January.
Xpeng Jan deliveries breakdown: Mona M03 15,225, P7+ 8,114
- The Mona M03 contributed 50.16 percent of Xpeng's deliveries in January, and the P7+ contributed 26.73 percent.
- The highest priced X9 delivered 821 units in January.
Nio Jan deliveries breakdown: ES6 2,676, ET5 Touring 1,959
- The ES6 contributed 19.30 percent of Nio Inc's deliveries in January, while the ET5 Touring contributed 14.13 percent.
- The Onvo L60 contributed 42.65 percent of Nio Inc's deliveries in January.
China Jan NEV retail at 744,000, up 10.5% year-on-year while down 42.9% from Dec
- Overall passenger car retail sales in January were 1.794 million units, down 12.1 percent year-on-year and down 31.9 percent from December.
- Many consumers completed their car-buying plans at the end of 2024, and there was less time for effective sales in January than before, the CPCA said.
