The catalyst for GIC's lawsuit against Nio was a short-selling report released in June 2022, which has since been refuted.

Nio has sued several bloggers, including a prominent Li Auto supporter, alleging that they have defamed the company.

Some online accounts fabricated inaccurate information and some others consistently attacked the Nio brand and users, an announcement said.

Audi's opposition has been rejected and Nio has been allowed to move forward with the registration of the ES series of trademarks in Australia.

A blogger posted thousands of pieces of content that insulted and defamed the Nio brand and its users over a period of more than a year.

Nio said it has donated compensation it received in several lawsuits over false rumors to the relief efforts for Super Typhoon Yagi.
