CATL's Naxtra brand sodium-ion batteries have been loaded into a passenger vehicle model from Changan Oshan and are set to undergo winter testing.

The first passenger vehicle model equipped with CATL's sodium-ion batteries will come from GAC Aion.

The sodium-ion battery is engineered for extreme cold environments, retaining 90% of its usable capacity at -40°C, CATL said.

Ronbay shares opened Monday at the daily limit-down of 20%, though losses have narrowed to about 11%.

CATL's domestic power battery installations in China totaled 333.57 GWh in 2025, powering 5.07 million vehicles.

Ronbay said that the RMB 120 billion ($17.2 billion) lithium material order amount with CATL represents its own estimates and involves uncertainties.

Ronbay will supply CATL with 3.05 million tons of LFP cathode material from the first quarter of 2026 through 2031.

The facility is the first CATL new energy after-sales service center in the Middle East and currently the largest outside China.

CATL and BYD collectively installed 575.2 GWh of EV batteries from January to November 2025, accounting for 54.9% of the global total.

Nio and CATL will focus on joint development of long-life batteries and battery swap compatibility technologies.
