Boonray has secured a RMB 100 million ($14.4 million) investment from BYD to advance the adoption of new energy technologies in heavy-duty industries.

Strong demand is prompting BYD to reassess ways to deploy more vehicles in India, where dealers currently have hundreds of bookings, according to Bloomberg.

The battery plant involves a total investment of $130 million, with a combined annual capacity of 6 GWh across two phases.

BYD will unveil the new flagship model of its Tang SUV series and the new flagship model of its Han sedan series in the first half of the year.

The target represents a 64% increase from BYD's 2025 sales of 6,107 passenger vehicles in South Korea.

BYD achieved over 200% year-on-year growth in Europe during most months of 2025, whereas Tesla saw declines in every single month.

BYD targets 1.3 million overseas vehicle sales in 2026, representing about 24% growth.

As part of the agreement, Transport Canada will certify new Chinese EVs within just eight weeks, Bloomberg reported.

CATL's domestic power battery installations in China totaled 333.57 GWh in 2025, powering 5.07 million vehicles.

The Seal 08 and Sealion 08 will serve as the flagship models of BYD's Ocean lineup, set to officially debut in the first quarter.
