Li Auto has pledged to cover potential vehicle purchase tax benefit losses for customers who order the Li i6 before October 31.

Li Auto has received more than 20,000 firm orders for the Li i6 electric SUV after launching the model earlier today, according to a local media report.

The five-seat Li i6 comes in a single trim starting at RMB 249,800 ($35,020), 26.49 percent lower than the six-seat Li i8.

The Li i6 will be officially launched on September 26, with an expected price range of about RMB 250,000 ($35,150) to RMB 300,000.

Li Auto and CATL will also collaborate to expand domestic and international operations, jointly advancing battery technology innovation and global deployment.

Li Auto aims for stable monthly deliveries of 9,000 to 10,000 units for the Li i6, the company's CEO said earlier this month.

Li Auto's four L series EREVs saw further significant year-on-year declines in August deliveries, while the Li Mega MPV continued approaching its record high.

This marks Li Auto's third consecutive month of year-on-year delivery declines, resulting in an 8.64 percent year-to-date decrease in deliveries.

Li Auto's second-quarter net income and revenue both fell short of analyst expectations, with weak guidance signaling continued pain ahead.
