Indian officials raised security concerns about Chinese investment in India during deliberations, according to a report in the local Economic Times.

The Leopard 5 will target the market priced between RMB 400,000 and RMB 600,000, which will further enrich the price range covered by BYD's models.

Fang Cheng Bao's poster says "Coming Soon", meaning that the model is not far away from its launch.

BYD's Seal DM-i will hit the market in the third quarter, and the Zhengzhou base is expected to have a monthly production capacity of up to 30,000 units.

The Tang EV is the fourth model BYD has unveiled in Ecuador after the Han EV, Yuan Plus and Dolphin.

BYD launched the Dolphin in Chile, the Han EV, Tang EV and Atto 3 in Morocco and the Atto 3 in Brunei.

BYD's earnings preview implies that its net profit for the second quarter will be RMB 6.37 billion to RMB 7.57 billion, up 128.56 percent to 171.62 percent year-on-year.

BYD unveiled the model on the first day of the Shanghai auto show on April 18, with a starting price of RMB 200,000 yuan to 250,000 yuan and an expected launch date in the third quarter.

Fang Cheng Bao announced 10 days ago that its first model is named Leopard 5.

BYD has submitted a $1 billion investment proposal to partner with a local company to produce EVs and batteries in India, according to Reuters.
