Luxeed, a new brand jointly developed by Huawei and Chery (HKG: 9973), will officially launch its V9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) later this month, Huawei executive director Richard Yu announced on Weibo on Thursday.
The extended-range MPV began pre-sales ahead of the Beijing Auto Show on April 22, with prices starting at 399,800 yuan ($58,750).
The model received more than 22,500 pre-orders within 72 hours of the pre-sales launch, Luxeed previously said.
The Luxeed V9 is the first flagship MPV model under the HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) umbrella.
The three-row, seven-seat vehicle measures 5,359 millimeters in length, 2,009 mm in width, and 1,859/1,879 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,250 mm, offering a spacious interior.
The model is equipped with a 1.5-liter extended-range engine and a CATL lithium battery pack, powered by a drive system provided by Huawei.
It features battery packs with capacities of either 37 kWh or 53.4 kWh, delivering a battery range of 158 to 223 kilometers. The vehicle boasts a maximum combined range of 1,250 km when fully fueled and charged.
The vehicle's chassis system is based on Huawei's Turing platform, and all variants come standard with rear-wheel steering for a more agile handling experience.
The first batch of Luxeed V9 display models has already been distributed to Luxeed retail stores.
Luxeed is a new brand jointly created by Huawei and Chery, with its current lineup including the Luxeed S7 sedan and the Luxeed R7 coupe SUV (sport utility vehicle).
In addition to Luxeed, the HIMA business includes four other brands — BAIC Group's Stelato, Seres Group's Aito, SAIC Motor's Shangjie, and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group's (JAC) Maextro — with models spanning sedans and SUVs.
Models under the HIMA business delivered 32,759 units in April, up 18.9% year-on-year, according to data it released earlier this month.
