The upcoming 2026 Beijing Auto Show will kick off on April 24 and run through May 3.

The vehicle is expected to belong to the brand's new Mei series, with the first model likely dubbed the Mei 7. However, as of now, Fang Cheng Bao has not officially confirmed the final naming or technical specifications.

Spy shots previously circulating on Chinese social media show the new car will feature a low-slung, fastback coupe stance, visually leaning closer to a high-performance electric sedan.

The inclusion of a roof-mounted LiDAR and multiple body cameras suggests Fang Cheng Bao may intend to market smart driving assistance capabilities as one of the car's key selling points.

The vehicle could be equipped with a tri-motor system delivering a peak power of nearly 1,000 horsepower, alongside the DiSus-M intelligent magneto-rheological body control system, some local media previously reported.

Fang Cheng Bao general manager Xiong Tianbo said earlier this month that the brand's sedan series is advancing steadily.

The sedan lineup will be showcased at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show at the end of this month, where the brand will also display models including the Tai 7 flash charging edition, Xiong said on April 1.

The sedan is expected to utilize BYD's recently launched second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology, supporting a charging experience comparable to refueling a gas car.

BYD has already rolled out more than a dozen updated models featuring these new technologies.

Fang Cheng Bao's sales reached 25,926 units in March, surging 222% year-on-year and jumping 52.2% from February, according to data released by BYD earlier this month.

In the first quarter, Fang Cheng Bao sold 64,543 vehicles, a 235.95% increase year-on-year. The performance indicates the brand is returning to a faster growth trajectory following adjustments after the Chinese New Year holiday.

The introduction of the sedan series signals that Fang Cheng Bao is beginning to form a more comprehensive product matrix.

Since its brand launch in August 2023, Fang Cheng Bao has primarily relied on the Bao 5, Bao 8, and the Tai series SUVs to drive growth.

A semi-official BYD account shared four images, indicating the Fang Cheng Bao's first sedan is imminent.
