Zeekr, the premium EV brand under Geely Auto, announced on Tuesday that its Zeekr 8X hybrid SUV will officially launch on April 17.
A launch event is scheduled to be held in the eastern Chinese city of Ningbo, Zhejiang province, where Zeekr will announce the official pricing for the new model.
The Zeekr 8X, a plug-in hybrid SUV, began pre-sales on March 16 with a starting price set at 376,800 yuan ($54,760).
The company said in an official announcement on Tuesday that existing pre-sales benefits will end before the official price is revealed, prompting potential buyers to make quick decisions.
To meet immediate consumer demand, Zeekr will offer pre-produced models for the Zeekr 8X, meaning the vehicle will be ready for customer delivery immediately upon launch.
The new model is built on Geely's SEA-S (Sustainable Experience Architecture-S) hybrid platform and adopts a 900-volt high-voltage system architecture.
It comes with a three-motor option capable of outputting a peak power of up to 1,030 kW and over 1,400 horsepower.
Supported by this powerful powertrain, the three-motor version of the Zeekr 8X can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.96 seconds.
The vehicle is powered by a 70-kWh 6C hybrid battery pack, boasting a pure electric range of up to 410 kilometers under CLTC conditions.
When fully fueled and charged, its combined range can reach 1,416 kilometers, thereby alleviating drivers' range anxiety.
Thanks to the 900-volt 6C ultra-fast charging technology, the vehicle can rapidly charge its battery from 20% to 80% in just 9 minutes at room temperature, Zeekr said.
The model is the first to feature the new-generation G-ASD (Geely Afari Smart Driving) advanced driver assistance system, which uses dual Nvidia Drive Thor-U chips combined with 43 sensors and 5 LiDARs to provide a powerful computing capacity of up to 1,400 TOPS.
The Zeekr 8X is another key premium product launched by Zeekr, following the larger Zeekr 9X hybrid SUV that debuted in September 2025.
The Zeekr 9X achieved over 10,000 deliveries in the single month of December last year, which helped the Zeekr brand's monthly deliveries surpass the 30,000-unit mark for the first time.
In March, Zeekr's deliveries reached 29,318 units, representing a massive 90% year-on-year increase and a 23% month-on-month growth.
Prior to the Zeekr 8X launch, Zeekr plans to officially roll out the updated Zeekr 007 and Zeekr 007 GT on April 10, alongside a 5th-anniversary edition of the Zeekr 001.
The company also plans to roll out an updated version of its flagship multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the Zeekr 009, in the second quarter.
