- The special edition model is priced at 137,800 yuan ($19,990) including the battery pack, a 15% premium over the regular version.
- The launch of the new special edition comes as Firefly seeks to regain market growth momentum following a sales slump during the slow season early this year.

Nio Inc's compact electric vehicle (EV) brand Firefly has launched a new special edition model to boost visibility and stimulate recently sluggish market demand.
The limited edition Firefly EV officially went on sale on Friday, adopting a so-called retro-futuristic aesthetic design concept.
The new model, featuring an avant-garde and trendy style, will be limited to just 166 units, Firefly said in an official announcement.
If consumers choose the full purchase plan including the battery pack, the official price of the special edition model is 137,800 yuan ($19,990).
This is about 15% higher than the starting price of 119,800 yuan for the regular Firefly model with the battery pack included.
Under the battery-as-a-service (BaaS) model, the starting price of the special edition is set at 97,800 yuan, with a monthly battery rental fee of 399 yuan.
The new model will feature "Newborn Green" as its exclusive exterior color, paired with eye-catching contrasting details and custom decals.
The launch of the new special edition model comes as Firefly attempts to regain its market growth momentum following a sales decline during the slow season early this year.
Affected by the traditional slow sales season in early 2026, Firefly delivered only 2,657 vehicles in February, down 5.34% from January, marking the brand's second consecutive month of sequential delivery declines, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
Rolling out special edition models continues a business strategy that Nio and its sub-brands have repeatedly used over the past year to attract consumer attention.
Firefly previously launched a limited edition model co-designed with a Dutch artist on January 15, which was restricted to just 99 units. Last year, the brand released several limited-edition models.
Despite the sales slowdown early in the year, Nio management expressed optimism about the future sales outlook during an earnings call earlier this month, stating that Firefly's sales have quickly returned to last year's normal levels following the end of the Chinese New Year holiday.
