- Firefly will launch a new special edition model featuring an exclusive exterior color on March 20.
- The plan follows delivery slump during a slow season in early 2026, with Firefly's February deliveries dropping to 2,657 vehicles.

Firefly, the compact electric vehicle (EV) brand under Nio Inc, announced Thursday that it will launch a new special edition model on Friday, March 20.
The model will feature "Newborn Green" as its exclusive exterior color to attract more consumer attention, a color that has already garnered widespread customer preference and popularity, Firefly said on Weibo.
The rollout of special edition models continues a business strategy frequently employed by Nio Inc and its sub-brands over the past year.
Firefly launched a new limited edition model on January 15, co-designed with a Dutch artist.
Limited to just 99 units, that model started at 95,800 yuan ($13,890) under the BaaS (battery as a service) program, a pricing that was about 20% higher than the starting price of the regular version under the same scheme.
The regular Firefly EV starts at 119,800 yuan including the battery pack, or 79,800 yuan under the BaaS program.
The release of the new special edition comes as Firefly seeks to regain its growth momentum following a recent sales decline caused mainly by the slow season early in the year.
Firefly delivered 2,657 vehicles in February, down 5.34% from January, marking the second consecutive month of sequential decline, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
After hitting a sales peak in December, Firefly reached a significant milestone of 40,000 cumulative deliveries in early January.
As of the end of February, Firefly's cumulative deliveries stood at 44,878 vehicles, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
Firefly's sales have quickly recovered to last year's normal levels following the Chinese New Year holiday, Nio management said during an earnings call earlier this month.
