Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY) unveiled its new two-door supercar concept ahead of the 2026 Barcelona Mobile World Congress (MWC) — a move signaling the Chinese tech giant's accelerated push to globalize its electric vehicle (EV) business strategy.

The all-electric Vision GT supercar debuted on February 28, making Xiaomi the first Chinese brand to join the Gran Turismo project. This virtual racing initiative had previously been dominated by traditional European luxury automakers like Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Ferrari.

Built on Xiaomi's 900-volt silicon carbide platform, the concept features an ultra-low, wide-body stance with scissor doors.

The vehicle incorporates a massive carbon-fiber rear wing and center-lock wheels concealing high-performance carbon-ceramic brakes.

MWC will take place at the Fira Gran Via convention center in Barcelona, Spain, from March 2-5. The Xiaomi Vision GT will be showcased at the event.

Li Tianyuan, Xiaomi EV's chief designer, said that the design philosophy avoids relying on additional components to achieve aerodynamic goals.

This "less is more" philosophy demands that nearly every body element serve a practical aerodynamic function, Li explained during a Saturday press conference.

Inside the cockpit, the model features a panoramic skyline display screen and supports full-scenario smart integration across Xiaomi's ecosystem of vehicles, homes, and devices.

The center console deliberately retains physical button controls, including a circular pointer knob and a shift lever styled like an aircraft throttle.

PlayStation players worldwide will soon experience this futuristic hypercar in Gran Turismo 7.

For consumers without gaming consoles, Xiaomi has also designed a dedicated driving simulator to broaden access to its appeal.

The concept car's powertrain is expected to deliver 1,900 horsepower, positioning it as one of the most powerful vehicles in the project.

Xiaomi's ambitions on virtual racetracks build upon its real-world performance achievements.

Last year, the production Xiaomi SU7 Ultra shattered the Nürburgring Nordschleife's record for fastest production electric vehicle with an astonishing lap time.

This high-performance electric vehicle, boasting 1,548 Ps, carries a starting price of yuan 529,900 ($77,270) and was launched in the Chinese market in February 2025.

Xiaomi EV announced earlier today that its February deliveries were "over 20,000 units." As before, it did not disclose specific figures, which are expected to be released later this month by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

It delivered a record 50,212 units in December 2025, with the figure declining to 39,002 units in January.

The month-on-month drop in February deliveries was primarily due to seasonal factors and a model transition.

The Chinese New Year holiday from February 15-23 negatively impacted both industrial production and vehicle deliveries.

The vast majority of Xiaomi EVs currently on sale and delivered are the all-electric SUV model YU7.

With the first-generation SU7 all-electric sedan officially discontinued in early February, the next-generation SU7 is expected to launch in April.
