Geely Auto (HKG: 0175, OTCMKTS: GELYF) will commence production of solid-state battery packs later this year, becoming the latest Chinese automaker to announce progress in next-generation battery R&D.
Geely Auto disclosed this target during Geely Holding Group's five-year strategy communication event on Thursday, stating it will complete production of its first in-house developed all-solid-state battery pack this year and conduct vehicle installation verification.
The automaker will also introduce its self-developed new Lithium manganese iron phosphate battery, achieving over 15% higher energy density.
Geely Auto is the latest Chinese automaker planning to begin installing solid-state batteries this year.
