China Car Custom's SC01 electric sports car is reportedly poised to enter the European market, despite remaining relatively unknown in its home country.

The SC01 is getting ready for debut in Europe this year, with the European-spec model currently undergoing certification capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds, according to a Tuesday report by InsideEVs.

Developed by China Car Custom, whose operating entity is Tianjin Gongjiangpai Auto Technology, the two-door electric vehicle is produced by Jiangxi Jiangling Group New Energy Vehicle (JMEV) in China.

The European SC01 will be built in Italy, though the exact assembly location remains unconfirmed, the report cited the company as saying.

This will be a limited-edition model, with only 1,000 units reserved for select European markets, according to InsideEVs.

Pricing for the European version hasn't been announced yet, but if it aligns with the Chinese model's cost, it could be a hit, the report noted.

The SC01 was launched in China on April 26, 2025, with a starting price of RMB 229,800 ($33,000).

The model's debut was arguably one of the quietest in China's auto industry — without a grand launch event or extensive social media marketing, only a few simple posts by founder Feng Xiaotong on Weibo at the time.

To date, the model lacks an official brand name, going solely by the SC01 designation.

The SC01 measures 4,106 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,170 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,503 mm.

Its curb weight is just 1,365 kg, supporting a top speed of 200 km/h. This makes it one of the lightest EVs in China's EV market.

The model features dual motors with a combined peak power output of 320 kW, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.

The SC01 is equipped with ternary lithium batteries supplied by CALB, boasting a capacity of 60 kWh and a CLTC range of 520 kilometers.

China Car Custom, founded in 2014 by sports car enthusiast Feng, has modified vehicles including the Chery Little Ant, Porsche 911, and Mitsubishi 3000GT.

The company is backed by Xiaomi, with the smartphone manufacturer's co-founder and senior vice president Liu De listed as a director in its registration records.

According to a September 26, 2022 report by local media outlet 36Kr, Xiaomi invested RMB tens of millions in the startup.

The SC01's launch is one of the most low-profile new car launches in China's auto industry.
