- Luxeed will launch a new large SUV in 2026, in addition to the already announced V9 MPV.
- Luxeed has begun considering international expansion, with the right-hand-drive version of the V9 MPV scheduled for release in the second half of 2026.

Luxeed, the new brand jointly developed by Huawei and Chery (HKG: 9973), will launch a new large SUV (sport utility vehicle) in 2026 alongside the previously announced V9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), while also updating two existing models.
Luxeed's newly appointed executive director and executive vice president Zhao Changjiang disclosed the plan during an interview with local media outlet Sina Auto, according to a transcript released Tuesday.
This signals the brand — relatively less prominent among Huawei's five HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) automotive brands — is attempting to break through with aggressive product planning.
Zhao, formerly head of sales for BYD's (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) premium Denza brand, officially announced his move to Luxeed on Tuesday. One of his signature products was the Denza D9 MPV.
Luxeed's model lineup will span all segments — sedans, SUVs, and MPVs — Zhao said in the interview.
In 2026, Luxeed will launch a flagship MPV and a large SUV, complementing the R7 and S7 to form a comprehensive product lineup, he said.
Both the R7 and S7 will undergo annual facelifts, featuring Huawei's ADS 4.0 smart driving system with fully upgraded smart driving hardware configurations, he added.
Luxeed's current lineup includes the Luxeed S7 sedan and the Luxeed R7 coupe SUV.
Last month, the brand announced its first MPV model was named V9, which is also the first MPV under the HIMA business.
Last week, the Luxeed V9 entered a regulatory filing catalog in China, preparing for its market launch. The MPV's Chinese debut is scheduled for spring.
Plans for additional models follow the August 2025 agreement between Huawei and Chery to advance the Luxeed brand into its "Phase 2.0." This strategy involves investing over RMB 10 billion ($1.4 billion) and expanding Luxeed's R&D team to 5,000 personnel.
2026 will be a year for Luxeed to solidify its foundation, with the brand aiming for annual sales of 1 million units by 2030, Zhao said.
Beyond the Chinese market, Luxeed has begun considering international expansion. The right-hand-drive version of the V9 will be unveiled in the second half of 2026, Zhao said.
