Spy shots of the Seal 08, the new flagship model in BYD's (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) Ocean lineup, have recently surfaced as its first-quarter debut approaches.
Users on Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu shared spy shots showing the Seal 08 covered in camouflage wrap featuring wave patterns and "OCEAN 8" lettering.
The Seal 08 is based on BYD's Ocean-S concept car, measuring over 4.9 meters in length with a 3-meter wheelbase, according to previous information.
The model is expected to offer both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) options, with a price range projected between RMB 200,000 ($28,670) and RMB 300,000, according to a report by local automotive media outlet Yiche on Monday.

BYD previously previewed the Seal 08 sedan and Sealion 08 SUV (sport utility vehicle) as the new flagship models of its Ocean lineup during the Ocean Day event marking the lineup's fourth anniversary on December 15, 2025.
