Luxeed, the new brand jointly developed by Huawei and Chery (HKG: 9973), has filed for the V9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), with its debut expected within months.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released its latest catalog of vehicle models awaiting market approval for public comment yesterday, which includes the Luxeed V9.

Public feedback can be submitted from January 9 to 15. Inclusion in this catalog represents the final major regulatory step before a vehicle model can be sold in China.

The Luxeed V9 has three pages in the catalog, with product models SQR6540REEVEHV1, SQR6540REEVEHV2, and SQR6540REEVEHV -- all extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs).

The seven-seat model is the first MPV under Huawei's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance). Its dimensions are 5,359 mm in length, 2,009 mm in width, and 1,859/1,879 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,250 mm.

The MPV has a curb weight of 2,750/2,790/2,870/2,940 kg and supports a top speed of 190 km/h.

The Luxeed V9 is equipped with a 1.5L Chery engine serving as a range extender, delivering a maximum power output of 115 kW.

It utilizes ternary lithium batteries and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by CATL (SHE: 300750).

The model features battery packs with capacities of 37 kWh or 53.4 kWh, delivering a battery range of 158-223 kilometers.

Luxeed shared more images of the V9 on Weibo on Friday, announcing the model will debut this spring with a CLTC combined range of up to 1,250 kilometers.

The brand's current lineup includes the Luxeed S7 sedan and the Luxeed R7 coupe SUV (sport utility vehicle).

On December 9, Huawei's HIMA business confirmed that its first MPV model under the brand will be the Luxeed V9.

The MPV is expected to launch in the first half of 2026, multiple domestic media outlets reported previously.
