BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has introduced long-range versions for two models in its Ocean lineup's Seal series, following Thursday's update for the Dynasty lineup's Qin models.
The Seal 05 DM-i and Seal 06 DM-i hybrid sedans both received long-range updates, each achieving a CLTC battery range of 210 kilometers -- the same as the long range variants added to the Qin series on Thursday.
These four large-battery plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) feature 25.28-kWh high-capacity blade batteries, doubling the capacity of comparable models, BYD said.
For users with a daily commute of 40 kilometers, a single charge can cover a week's worth of travel, the company noted.
The Seal 05 DM-i now offers 3 variants: 1 with a CLTC range of 128 kilometers and two with 210 kilometers. Their starting prices are RMB 79,800 ($11,430), RMB 89,800, and RMB 99,800 respectively.
The 2026 Seal 05 DM-i was launched on October 11, 2025, previously offering only a 128-km battery range version starting at RMB 79,800.
The Seal 06 DM-i now offers 4 variants: 2 with 128 km range starting at RMB 92,800 and RMB 102,800; and 2 with 210 km range starting at RMB 112,800 and RMB 122,800.

The Seal 06 DM-i was initially launched in May 2024 with 2 variants, both offering 128 km of range.
The Seal is BYD's sedan series in the Ocean lineup, which also includes the Seal 07 DM-i, Seal 06 DM-i Touring, Seal 06 EV, Seal 06 GT, and Seal.
This series ranks among BYD's best-selling models, with December sales reaching 44,602 units.
In 2025, the Seal series sold 518,412 units, contributing 11.26% to BYD Group's total sales during the same period, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
