The right-hand-drive Firefly EV will go on sale in Singapore around the 2026 Chinese New Year, Qin said during a media event today with outlets including CnEVPost, following a celebration at Nio Inc's F2 factory in Hefei, Anhui, to mark the production of its 1-millionth vehicle.
Nio Inc will use the Firefly as a spearhead for steady global market growth this year, he said, adding that the right-hand-drive Firefly EV will be the first move of the new year.
The 2026 Chinese New Year falls on February 17, with the holiday period running from February 15 to 23.
Nio officially launched the Firefly brand at Nio Day 2024 on December 21, 2024, positioning it to challenge Mini and Smart. The brand's namesake first model, the Firefly EV, was launched in China on April 19, 2025.

Nio Inc announced on November 18 that right-hand drive Firefly cars have commenced mass production, with the first batch destined for the Singapore market.

During today's media event, Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li reiterated that Nio Inc will continue its pattern of appointing a single distributor per country when entering new markets.
Nio Inc will only enter a new market when commercial viability is assured, and Firefly can achieve this in most markets, Li said.
Firefly maintained steady growth throughout the year, delivering a record 7,084 units in December -- a 16.36% increase from November.
Throughout 2025, Firefly delivered 39,414 vehicles.
