Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) saw its 1-millionth mass-produced vehicle roll off the assembly line, shortly after the company celebrated its 11th anniversary in November.
The electric vehicle (EV) maker held a ceremony today at its F2 factory in NeoPark, Hefei, Anhui province, to celebrate the rollout of its one-millionth vehicle -- a third-generation ES8 SUV (sport utility vehicle).
The milestone vehicle was donated to the Anhui Mozi Quantum Technology Foundation to serve experts in the quantum technology field.

During the ceremony, the company announced the launch of a commemorative limited edition of its ET9 sedan.
The production milestone comes 11 years after Nio's founding and about 20 months after its 500,000th vehicle.

The company will continue investing in infrastructure, targeting both charging stations and battery swap stations to exceed 10,000 locations each by 2030, Li said. It currently operates 3,683 battery swap stations and 8,542 charging stations in China.
Nio Inc delivered a record 48,135 vehicles in December, bringing its full-year 2025 deliveries to 326,028 units -- a 46.88% year-on-year increase -- according to data released on January 1.
Cumulative deliveries since Nio Inc's founding reached 997,592 units by the end of December, nearing the 1 million milestone, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

During today's event, the company also signed a framework agreement with Chery (HKG: 9973) and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp (JAC) to jointly build an innovation platform, without disclosing specific details.
It also finalized a signing ceremony with Lontium Semiconductor for a collaborative industrialization project focused on automotive chips.
Nio was founded in Shanghai on November 25, 2014, and is one of China's earliest EV startups.
The company saw its 100,000th mass-produced vehicle roll off the assembly line on April 7, 2021, with Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) CEO Elon Musk congratulating it, calling it a "tough milestone."
On May 9, 2024, Nio saw its 500,000th mass-produced vehicle roll off the assembly line.
For many years after its founding, Nio Inc operated only the Nio brand. On May 15, 2024, it launched its sub-brand Onvo, targeting the mass market.
Onvo's first model, the L60 SUV, was launched on September 19, 2024, followed by its second model, the L90, on July 31, 2025.
Beyond Onvo, Nio Inc operates the Firefly sub-brand, whose inaugural model, the Firefly EV, was launched on April 19, 2025.
By the end of December, the Nio main brand had delivered 829,609 vehicles cumulatively, with sub-brands Onvo and Firefly contributing 128,569 and 39,414 units respectively, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
