- The current P7+ and G7 models are only available as BEVs, but both will soon receive EREV variants as Xpeng advances its "dual- powertrain" strategy.

Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV, HKG: 9868) will launch updated versions of its P7+ sedan and extended-range G7 SUV in the coming days, kicking off its 2026 product rollout.
The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced today that the updated P7+ and the G7 extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version will be launched in China on January 8 and in Europe on January 9.
The Chinese launch event for both models will commence at 3:00 pm Beijing time in Guangzhou -- the city where Xpeng is headquartered -- while the European launch will begin at 9:00 am local time in Brussels, Belgium.
Currently, both the P7+ and G7 are only available as battery electric vehicles (BEVs). They will soon get EREV variants as Xpeng advances its "dual- powertrain" strategy following the launch of the EREV variant of its X9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) in November.
The updated P7+ and extended-range G7 will both be built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform. They will employ Xpeng's Kunpeng Super Electric System's strategy of pairing a large battery with a larger fuel tank to address range anxiety.
The P7+ was launched in China on November 7, 2024. Priced starting at RMB 186,800 ($26,710) in China, the model offers competitive value for a mid-to-large-sized smart EV.
On December 29, Xpeng began teasing the 2026 P7+, confirming it will continue its "dual- powertrain" strategy with both EREV and BEV options.
The G7, launched in July 2025, is Xpeng's first model equipped with the in-house developed Turing AI chip, boasting a computing power of up to 2,250 TOPS.
The G7 is currently available only as a BEV, with a starting price in China of RMB 195,800.
In September 2025, Xpeng released the first official images of the G7 EREV, announcing its market launch for the first quarter 2026.

On December 30, the company revealed further details about the G7 EREV, indicating a battery-only range of 430 kilometers per charge and the ability to replenish 314 kilometers of range in just 12 minutes.
With a full tank and fully charged battery, the G7 EREV will offer a combined range of up to 1,704 kilometers, making it the world's longest-range SUV, Xpeng previously said on Weibo.
On January 2, Xpeng announced it had shipped its first batch of over 1,000 2026 model year P7+ and G7 EREVs to stores across China in preparation for market launch.
