Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV, HKG: 9868) has previewed the extended-range version of its G7 SUV (sport utility vehicle), preparing for a robust 2026 product cycle following yesterday's preview of the facelifted P7+ sedan's extended-range variant.

The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker today shared multiple images of the G7 extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) along with key specifications on Weibo.

The G7 EREV will offer a combined range of up to 1,704 kilometers, making it the world's longest-range SUV and enabling stress-free long-distance driving, Xpeng said on Weibo.

On battery power alone, the G7 EREV achieves 430 kilometers per charge, leading its segment, the company said.

This range is enabled by a 60-liter fuel tank paired with a 55.8-kWh high-capacity battery pack. Xpeng described this combination as giving the G7 its own built-in supercharger, eliminating range anxiety.

Built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform, the G7 EREV supports up to 5C charging rates, enabling a 314-kilometer range boost in just 12 minutes.

The model comes standard with dual active noise cancellation systems -- ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) and RNC (Road Noise Cancellation) -- and features AI management for the range extender, delivering a quieter driving experience, Xpeng said.

The extended-range G7 appeared in China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) catalog this September, revealing the five-seat SUV's dimensions: 4,918 mm long, 1,925 mm wide, 1,655 mm tall, with a 2,890 mm wheelbase.

These dimensions are longer than the 4,892 mm length of the G7's battery electric vehicle (BEV) variant, with other measurements identical.

It utilizes a 1.5L engine from Harbin Dongan Auto Engine as its range extender, delivering a maximum power output of 110 kW. The car employs lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by Eve Energy.

The currently available G7 battery electric vehicle (BEV) was launched on July 3 this year, starting at RMB 195,800 ($27,950).

G7 deliveries hit a record 6,815 units in August but subsequently declined significantly, dropping to 2,569 units in November, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

The G7 EREV is Xpeng's latest extended-range model, as the company bets on EREVs to drive higher sales volumes.

Just yesterday, Xpeng previewed the facelifted P7+, stating it will add EREV variants to the sedan model with a combined range of up to 1,550 kilometers.

Like most Chinese EV startups, Xpeng produced only BEVs in its early years.

At a November 2024 Tech Day event, it unveiled its extended-range system, the Kunpeng Super Electric System, formally announcing its entry into the EREV segment.

On November 20 this year, Xpeng launched the extended-range version of its X9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), marking its first model to offer both BEV and EREV options.

Beyond these EREV models, Xpeng has also filed for the EREV variant of its G6 SUV (sport utility vehicle), expected to be launched in 2026.

The 2026 P7+ will be Xpeng's latest "dual- powertrain" and global model, set for release in 36 countries.
