- As of December 13, Onvo has deployed more than 2,600 new battery packs, achieving 32.5 percent of its overall target.
- Onvo aims to complete the deployment of over 8,000 new battery packs by mid-January 2026.

Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) sub-brand Onvo announced it has completed about one-third of its battery doubling initiative, as more battery production capacity shifts from vehicle assembly to energy replenishment facilities.
As of December 13, Onvo has deployed over 2,600 new battery packs, achieving 32.5 percent overall progress, the brand announced today on Weibo.
By mid-January next year, Onvo will achieve its deployment target of over 8,000 new battery packs, doubling its available battery capacity, it emphasized.
The Nio sub-brand announced the battery doubling initiative on December 5, saying it would deploy over 8,000 new battery packs, with completion expected by mid-January 2026.
Work commenced in November, with over 800 new battery packs already deployed, Onvo said at the time.
The initiative aims to meet peak demand around the Chinese Spring Festival holiday and provide a leading, convenient charging experience for the rapidly growing user base in the long term, the brand said.
The 2026 Chinese Spring Festival holiday runs from February 15 to 23. The period immediately before and after the holiday typically sees peak travel activity among Chinese residents.
Onvo currently offers two models -- the L60 five-seat midsize SUV and the L90 large three-row SUV -- both pure-electric vehicles.
The L90, which began deliveries on August 1, has become the primary driver of Onvo's rapid delivery growth in the second half of this year.
The large SUV delivered 10,575, 10,997, and 11,722 units in August, September, and October respectively, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
In November, L90 deliveries saw a significant decline though, dropping 49.07 percent month-on-month to 5,970 units.
Beyond Onvo, the Nio main brand also appears to be accelerating its infrastructure deployment.
Yesterday, Nio announced that its combined charging stations and battery swap stations in Shanghai -- the city hosting its global headquarters -- have reached 500 locations, including 198 battery swap stations and 302 charging stations.
This makes Shanghai the city with the most Nio charging infrastructure.
