- Earlier this year, a report indicated that HIMA's first MPV model would be a luxury vehicle slated for launch in the first half of next year.
- The model is expected to feature Huawei's DriveONE powertrain system and incorporate a 192-channel LiDAR.

Huawei's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business confirmed today that the first MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) under the alliance will be the Luxeed V9.
"HIMA's first MPV, the Luxeed V9 -- a flagship masterpiece. Stay tuned," HIMA posted today on its social media platforms.
The model is expected to be built on Huawei's DriveONE 800-volt silicon carbide powertrain platform and equipped with a 192-channel LiDAR.
Luxeed is a new brand jointly developed by Huawei and Chery (HKG: 9973), with current models including the Luxeed S7 sedan and Luxeed R7 coupe SUV (sport utility vehicle).
Beyond Luxeed, HIMA's portfolio includes four additional brands: BAIC Group's Stelato, Seres Group's Aito, SAIC Motor (SHA: 600104)'s Shangjie, and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC)'s Maextro, covering sedans and SUVs.
On November 20, HIMA teased an upcoming MPV launch for the unit without providing further details. Subsequent speculation suggested the MPV would be from Luxeed.
Yesterday, a spy photo of the Luxeed V9 circulated widely on Weibo.

In August, local media outlet Yicai reported that Luxeed was developing an MPV model, poised to become the first MPV under Huawei's HIMA business.
The new model is built on Chery's E0X-L platform, internally codenamed "EHV," the report said.
Positioned as a luxury MPV, it is expected to be launched in the first half of next year, the report said, citing multiple independent sources.
The model would offer both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants, with power batteries supplied by CATL (SHE: 300750), the report indicated.
The Luxeed MPV replaces a previously planned Chery project to leverage Luxeed's stronger brand potential, Yicai said.
