- GAC Toyota began accepting reservations for the bZ7 sedan at the Guangzhou auto show in November, targeting the RMB 200,000 ($28,290) market segment.
- The bZ7 is the second model developed primarily by Toyota China's engineering team, following the locally developed bZ3X.

GAC Toyota, the China joint venture between Toyota and GAC Group, will officially launch the bZ7 in the first quarter of next year following strong performance from the bZ3X electric SUV (sport utility vehicle).
GAC Toyota announced the plan in a WeChat article today, saying the bZ3X has delivered over 10,000 units for two consecutive months, with November deliveries reaching 10,010 units.
Pre-orders for the bZ7 commenced on November 21, the opening day of the 2025 Guangzhou auto show. While GAC Toyota did not disclose the pre-sales price at the time, it said the bZ7 would be positioned in the RMB 200,000 ($28,290) segment.
The bZ7 is the second model developed primarily by Toyota China's engineering team, following the locally developed bZ3X.
The bZ7 features Huawei's HarmonySpace cockpit system and integrates with Xiaomi's (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY) smart ecosystem.
The model also incorporates Momenta's driver assistance system, supporting Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) functionality for both urban and highway driving.
The bZ7 measures 5,130 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,020 mm.
It utilizes a motor supplied by Huawei, delivering a peak power output of 207 kW (278 horsepower) and a top speed of 180 km/h.
Japanese automakers including Toyota and Nissan have seen their Chinese joint ventures intensify efforts in the EV market this year, achieving notable results.
On March 6, GAC Toyota launched the bZ3X with a starting price of just RMB 109,800. Toyota said this is its first pure-electric SUV priced under RMB 100,000.
GAC Toyota sold 64,905 cars in November, down 3.8 percent from the 67,493 units sold in the same month last year, according to data released by the company today.
