Launched in 2003, the Guangzhou auto show begins annually in November, unlike the biennial Shanghai and Beijing auto shows.

This year's event featured 93 new vehicle debuts, its organizers said.

A total of 1,085 vehicles were exhibited, including 629 new energy vehicles (NEVs) -- accounting for 58 percent of the total. This marks the first time NEVs exceeded half of all displayed vehicles at the event.

This mirrors China's current automotive sales structure. In October, China's NEV sales reached 1,715,000 units, surpassing the previous record of 1,604,000 units set in September, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

The October NEV penetration rate -- the proportion of NEVs in total vehicle sales -- reached 51.6 percent, marking the first time CAAM data recorded a figure exceeding 50 percent.

At the 2025 Guangzhou auto show, Onvo, a sub-brand of Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO), launched the Black Knight Edition of its L90 electric SUV (sport utility vehicle), limited to 999 units.

Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) debuted its new A10 compact electric SUV at the 2025 Guangzhou auto show and began accepting pre-orders for the model.

AUDI, the new brand jointly launched by Audi and SAIC, debuted the AUDI E SUV Concept on the opening day of the 2025 Guangzhou auto show.

Xiaomi EV unveiled the enhanced version of its HAD (Hyper Autonomous Driving) driver assistance system at the show, leveraging world model capabilities.

The new brand jointly developed by Dongfeng and Huawei is named Yijing, with its first model scheduled to debut at the next Beijing auto show in April 2026.
