The total number of exhibited vehicles will be 1,085, including 629 new energy vehicle (NEV) models, or 58 percent.

Major international automotive brands including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Ford, General Motors, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Kia will participate in the event.

Chinese domestic automakers including Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO), Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV), Xiaomi EV, and Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI), along with Chinese companies such as CATL (HKG: 3750) and Huawei, will also participate.

The Guangzhou auto show, launched in 2003, is held annually in November, unlike the biennial Shanghai and Beijing auto shows.

The 2024 Guangzhou auto show, running from November 15 to 24, featured 1,171 vehicles on display, including 512 NEVs, accounting for 43.7 percent of the total.

At last year's event, NEVs were displayed on nearly every booth, cementing their status as the industry's focal point.

This year, Chinese NEVs have gained broader acceptance.

In October, China's NEV sales reached 1,715,000 units, surpassing September's previous record of 1,604,000 units to set a new high, according to data released yesterday by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

The NEV penetration rate reached 51.6 percent in October, marking the first time it exceeded 50 percent in CAAM's data. This figure surpasses both the 46.8 percent recorded in the same period last year and September's 49.0 percent.

BEV sales reached a record 1,109,000 units in October, up 31.7 percent year-on-year.
