Stelato, the new brand jointly created by Huawei and Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC Group), began pre-sales today for its updated S9 sedan, with the official launch set for 13 days later.
The mid-to-large-size executive sedan starts at RMB 319,800 ($44,920) during pre-sales, higher than its predecessor's starting price of RMB 309,800.
As is customary, the official launch price in China is typically lower than the pre-sales price.
The updated S9 sedan offers both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, consistent with its predecessor.
Showroom models are arriving at stores, with the official launch set for November 20, Huawei executive director and consumer business group chairman Richard Yu announced today on Weibo.
The updated S9 will debut its own logo for the first time. Neither of Stelato's current models -- the S9 sedan and S9T wagon -- feature a dedicated logo, instead displaying the Stelato lettering on the front face.
The updated Stelato S9 measures 5,160 mm in length, 1,987 mm in width, and 1,486 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. These dimensions remain unchanged from its predecessor.
The new Stelato S9 EREV boasts a CLTC battery range of 372 kilometers. With a full tank of fuel and fully charged battery, its combined CLTC range reaches 1,378 kilometers.
Its BEV variant achieves a CLTC range of up to 816 kilometers.
Stelato is one of five automotive brands under Huawei's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) umbrella. The other four are Aito from Seres Group, Luxeed from Chery (HKG: 9973), Maextro from Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp (JAC), and Shangjie from SAIC.
The Stelato S9, the brand's first model, was launched at a Huawei product evet on August 6, 2024, with deliveries commencing on September 7 last year.
On September 16, the brand launched its second model, the S9T, a station wagon variant based on the Stelato S9.
Vehicles under the HIMA business delivered a record 68,216 units in October, according to data released by the business on November 1. Stelato's October delivery figures were not disclosed.
