Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) has reached the 100,000th delivery milestone for its C16 SUV (sport utility vehicle) about 16 months after its market launch.
The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker announced the milestone on Weibo today, saying the C16 has ranked as China's best-selling large SUV priced under RMB 200,000 for 14 consecutive months.
The C16 was initially launched on June 28, 2024, initially offering only six-seat variants with battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options.
In June this year, Leapmotor launched the 2026 C16 with a starting price of just RMB 151,800 ($21,380), lower than its predecessor's RMB 155,800.
For the updated C16, Leapmotor added five-seat variants alongside the six-seat model to target a broader customer base.
The vehicle measures 4,915 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,770 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm.
Its EREV variants deliver up to 280 kilometers of battery range, while the BEV variants achieve a range of up to 630 kilometers.
The Stellantis NV (NYSE: STLA)-backed Chinese NEV maker delivered 66,657 vehicles in September, marking its fifth consecutive month of record-high deliveries.
This represents a 97.40 percent increase from 33,767 units delivered in the same period last year and a 16.81 percent rise from August's 57,066 deliveries.
Year-to-date, the company has delivered 395,516 vehicles, a 128.81 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
