Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) announced its entry into five additional European countries as the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker continues its global expansion.
The company announced today its official market entry into Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, and Croatia, marking an upgrade to its European strategic footprint.
In Switzerland, Xpeng has partnered with leading European mobility service provider Hedin Group and plans to launch the 2025 G6 and G9 SUVs there, followed by the P7+ sedan in the first half of 2026.
The partnership will establish a nationwide sales network in Switzerland, starting with Hedin's retail outlets in Dielsdorf.
The two companies expect to establish 8 to 10 sales outlets by the end of 2025, with an additional 10 to 20 outlets planned for 2026.
Meanwhile, Hedin's existing seven locations will be upgraded into Xpeng brand sales and service centers.
Xpeng plans to formally enter the Austrian market in October, expanding its presence in Central Europe.
In Austria, Xpeng will replicate its proven authorized dealer model from Germany, with initial locations covering key cities including Vienna, Salzburg, Graz, and Klagenfurt.
The company aims to expand its Austrian network to 10 locations by the end of 2025 and increase it to 20 locations in 2026.
Xpeng has made significant progress in Germany, where it now operates 35 sales outlets, Markus Schrick, its head of central Europe, said, adding that the company plans to replicate this model in Austria and additional new markets.
The EV maker will enter Hungary, Slovenia, and Croatia to further expand its Southeast European footprint.
Operations in these three countries will be managed by a joint venture established by AutoWallis Group and Salvador Caetano Group.
Xpeng will leverage its partners' established local resources to build a comprehensive service system covering sales, delivery, and after-sales support, it said.
The company plans to launch pop-up stores in Budapest, Ljubljana, and Zagreb this fall, showcasing models including the 2025 G6 and 2025 G9.
Xpeng has significantly ramped up its overseas expansion efforts over the past two years, aiming for overseas markets to contribute half of its sales within the next decade.
In the first eight months of this year, Xpeng delivered over 24,702 vehicles overseas, marking a year-on-year increase of more than 137 percent.
The company is advancing localized production overseas, with its first overseas manufacturing facility in Indonesia delivering its first locally produced X9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) in July.
Earlier this month, Xpeng announced its first European production facility in Austria, developed in partnership with Magna, has produced its first batch of Xpeng G6 and G9 SUVs.
The Austrian plant will expand production to include additional models, further enhancing the competitiveness of its products in the European market, the company said.
