Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) today commenced pre-sales of the updated Zeekr 001 shooting brake, delivering significant specification upgrades to one of its core models.
Chinese customers can now reserve the updated Zeekr 001 with a RMB 2,000 ($280) deposit and receive a RMB 7,000 discount on the final payment.
Showroom models will be available at Zeekr stores starting October 4, with the official launch set for October 11, the company said.
The updated Zeekr 001 receives substantial specification upgrades, including enhancements to its powertrain and battery, while its exterior design remains largely unchanged.
Pricing is expected to remain unchanged, though Zeekr did not disclose the pre-sales price.
The older Zeekr 001 was launched on August 13, 2024, with a starting price range of RMB 259,000 ($36,410) to RMB 329,000.
The updated Zeekr 001 is built on a 900-volt high-voltage architecture across the lineup, an upgrade from its predecessor's 800-volt system.
Powered by the 900-volt platform and the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), the updated Zeekr 001 delivers enhanced driving dynamics, faster charging speeds, and longer, more reliable range, the company said.
The all-wheel-drive variant of the updated Zeekr 001 delivers a peak power output of 680 kW (912 horsepower, 925 Ps), achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 2.83 seconds and a top speed of 280 km/h.
By comparison, the most powerful variant of the older Zeekr 001 produced 580 kW, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds.
The rear-wheel-drive variant of the updated Zeekr 001 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.98 seconds.
It offers two battery options: the 95-kWh Zeekr Golden Battery and the 103-kWh CATL (HKG: 3750) Qilin Battery.
The Golden Battery delivers a CLTC range of 710 kilometers, supports flash charging of over 1 MWh, and achieves a peak charging rate of 12C. It can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in as little as 7 minutes, adding 500 kilometers of range.
The Qilin Battery delivers 810 kilometers of CLTC range with a peak charging rate of 6C. It can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in as little as 10 minutes, adding 570 kilometers of range.
The updated Zeekr 001 comes standard with the Zeekr G-Pilot H7 driver assistance system, featuring 31 sensing components including LiDAR.
Its driving assistance chip is the Nvidia Drive Thor-U, delivering a total computing power of 700 TOPS.
The older Zeekr 001 utilized Mobileye EyeQ5H and Nvidia Drive Orin chips, achieving a maximum total computing power of 508 TOPS.
As Zeekr's inaugural model, the Zeekr 001 has been the brand's primary sales driver over the past several years.
Throughout 2024, the Zeekr 001 delivered 99,984 units, accounting for 45.01 percent of Zeekr's total deliveries during that period, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
From January to August, the Zeekr 001 delivered 25,575 units, contributing 20.40 percent of the brand's total deliveries during that period.
