Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) will commence pre-sales for the updated Zeekr 001 shooting brake on September 23, ahead of its original schedule, multiple domestic media outlets including Yiche reported today, citing an urgent notice from a suspected internal work group.
The official launch of the updated Zeekr 001 will occur in mid-October as originally planned, with deliveries commencing at that time, according to these reports.
The current Zeekr 001 model is sold out, the reports stated.
Zeekr shared its vehicle update plan for the remainder of the year on August 8, partly to avoid negative comments triggered by sudden model updates as previously experienced.
Zeekr would complete updates to the Zeekr 007 sedan, Zeekr 001, and Zeekr 7X SUV in the fourth quarter, the company said at the time.
The updated Zeekr 001 would feature Nvidia's Thor-U smart driving chip and adopt a 900-volt high-voltage system, with minor refinements to interior and exterior details.
The updated Zeekr 007 would see adjustments to interior and exterior details, while its driver assistance system, battery and electric drive system remain unchanged.
The updated Zeekr 7X would incorporate the Thor-U chip and 900-volt high-voltage system in select variants, with minor refinements to interior and exterior details.
The Zeekr X compact EV will be updated in September or Q4, introducing variants with Golden Battery technology and interior refinements, the company said.
The Zeekr 001, the brand's inaugural model, has been its primary sales driver over the past several years.
From January to August, the Zeekr 001 delivered 25,575 units, accounting for 20.40 percent of the brand's total deliveries during that period, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The shooting brake model received its last update in August 2024, featuring faster charging speeds and enhanced driver assistance capabilities.
The Zeekr 001 is currently offered in five variants in China, starting at RMB 259,000 ($36,420), RMB 269,000, RMB 269,000, RMB 299,000, and RMB 329,000.
