Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) will launch the Zeekr 9X large luxury hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle) on September 29, formally kicking off its push into the hybrid vehicle segment.
The electric vehicle (EV) maker announced the date today on Weibo, saying a launch event will commence at 7:00 pm Beijing time that evening.
Zeekr has already begun shipping display models of the Zeekr 9X to its nationwide stores, the company said.
The company launched pre-sales for the Zeekr 9X on August 29, the opening day of the 2025 Chengdu auto show. With a starting pre-sales price of RMB 479,900 ($67,520), it ranks among the most expensive models from a Chinese domestic automaker.
The Zeekr 9X offers three variants -- Max, Ultra, and Hyper -- during pre-sales priced at RMB 479,900, RMB 499,900, and RMB 569,900 respectively.
Chinese customers who pay a RMB 5,000 deposit before the official launch will receive a RMB 10,000 discount upon final payment.
Shortly after pre-sales began, Zeekr announced on Weibo that the model secured 42,667 pre-orders within the first hour.
This six-seat full-size luxury SUV measures 5,239 mm in length, 2,019 mm in width, and 1,819 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,169 mm.
It features a 2.0T plug-in hybrid powertrain and employs a full-stack 900-volt hybrid high-voltage architecture.
The model is the first built on the SEA-S platform, unveiled by Zeekr in July as the industry's first dedicated luxury hybrid architecture based on an all-electric platform.
The Zeekr 9X's three silicon carbide motors deliver a peak output of 1,030 kW (1,381 horsepower), enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.1 seconds.
The large SUV's battery pack offers 55 kWh and 70 kWh options, delivering a CLTC range of 300 to 380 kilometers.
Both battery packs support charging rates up to 6C, enabling a 20-80 percent charge in about 9 minutes and a 10-80 percent charge in 10.3 minutes.
