BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) today announced its June new energy vehicle (NEV) sales figures and subsequently released detailed breakdowns showcasing the performance of different models and sub-brands.
Song family models sold 59,026 units in June, continuing to lead as the best-selling BYD lineup, despite a year-on-year decrease of 15.94 percent and a month-on-month decline of 21.25 percent.
The Song family includes the Dynasty series models Song L EV, Song L DM-i, and Song Pro DM-i, as well as the Ocean series models Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i.
BYD's Dynasty series Song models sold 27,731 units in June, a year-on-year increase of 12.46 percent, but a decrease of 19.35 percent compared to May.
The Ocean series Song models sold 31,295 units in June, a year-on-year decrease of 31.31 percent and a month-on-month decrease of 22.85 percent.
The BYD Seagull sold 51,295 units in June, making it the second-highest-selling BYD model, with a year-on-year increase of 42.23 percent but a month-on-month decrease of 14.69 percent.
The BYD Seal sold 44,387 units in June, making it the third-highest-selling BYD model, with a year-on-year increase of 81.86 percent and a month-on-month increase of 73.47 percent.
The Qin family models sold 44,042 units in June, a year-on-year decrease of 35.66 percent and a month-on-month decrease of 5.78 percent.
The BYD Sealion family sold 34,757 units in June, a year-on-year increase of 400.10 percent and a month-on-month increase of 2.86 percent. The first model in the Sealion family, the Sealion 07 EV, was launched on May 10, 2024.
The BYD Yuan family sold 25,727 units in June, a year-on-year decrease of 28.97 percent and a month-on-month decrease of 18.87 percent.
The BYD Dolphin sold 22,924 units in June, a year-on-year increase of 111.09 percent and a month-on-month increase of 25.40 percent.
BYD Han sold 18,929 units in June, a year-on-year decrease of 13.43 percent and a month-on-month decrease of 12.66 percent.
BYD Tang sold 18,042 units in June, a year-on-year increase of 14.78 percent, but a month-on-month decrease of 5.10 percent.
BYD Chaser 05 sold 11,834 units in June, a year-on-year decrease of 64.12 percent, but an increase of 144.71 percent compared to May.
BYD Xia MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) sold 5,018 units in June, a decrease of 28.62 percent compared to May.
BYD e2 sold 274 units in June, a year-on-year decrease of 52.76 percent and a month-on-month decrease of 5.19 percent.
BYD's passenger vehicles, including the Dynasty series and Ocean series, sold a total of 336,255 units in June, a year-on-year increase of 3.51 percent but a month-on-month decrease of 2.26 percent.
The Dynasty series sold 139,489 units in June, a year-on-year decrease of 16.43 percent and a month-on-month decrease of 13.12 percent.
The Ocean series sold 196,766 units in June, a year-on-year increase of 24.60 percent and a month-on-month increase of 7.24 percent.
BYD's premium Denza brand sold 15,783 units in June, up 28.58 percent year-on-year but down 0.15 percent from May.
Denza's June sales included 9,848 units of the D9 MPV, 1,018 units of the Z9 series, 4,668 units of the N9, and 249 units of the N7.
BYD's personalized sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao sold 18,903 vehicles in June, up 605.34 percent year-on-year and 50.12 percent month-on-month.
This included 12,017 Tai 3 units, 4,875 Bao 5 units, and 2,011 Bao 8 units.
BYD's ultra-luxury sub-brand Yangwang sold 205 vehicles in June, a year-on-year decrease of 50.96 percent, but a 47.48 percent increase from May.
The Yangwang U8 SUV sold 64 units in June, the U9 electric supercar sold 9 units, and the U7 sedan sold 132 units.
