Geely Auto (HKG: 0175) announced yesterday that it has opened showrooms in Chile and Nicaragua to accelerate its expansion in the Latin American market.
The Chinese automaker's first flagship store in Chile opened in the Movicenter automotive district in the capital city of Santiago, offering sales, service, and product experience functions.
Along with the store's opening, Geely launched the Coolray Lite compact SUV (sport utility vehicle) in Chile.
Geely entered the Chilean market about six months ago and has already introduced the Okavango, Starray, and Geely EX5 models to local consumers.
To date, Geely has established 25 sales and service outlets in Chile.
In Nicaragua, Geely's first showroom opened on Masaya Avenue in Managua, alongside the launch of the seven-seat SUV Okavango.
Since entering the Nicaraguan market in October 2024, Geely has become the second most popular Chinese automotive brand in the country, according to the company.
Like domestic peers such as BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), Geely is actively expanding into overseas markets.
Earlier this month, Geely completed the trial production of the first EX5 SUV at its Puwakarta factory in Indonesia.
The EX5 is scheduled to begin mass production in Indonesia in the fourth quarter of 2025, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 units.
