BYD's (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) largest car carrier, the BYD Shenzhen, has arrived in Brazil one month after launching its maiden voyage.

The BYD Shenzhen has arrived at the port of Itajaí in Brazil, carrying 7,300 BYD new energy vehicles (NEVs), according to the semi-official Weibo account @小迪快报 today.

The ship is the fourth car carrier operated by BYD, with a total length of 219.9 meters, a beam of 37.7 meters, and 16 decks.

On April 22, the BYD Shenzhen was officially delivered to BYD in Yizheng, Jiangsu province, and put into service.

The BYD Shenzhen embarked on its first ocean voyage from Taicang, Jiangsu province, on April 27.

BYD has rapidly expanded its maritime transport capacity over the past year as it intensifies its efforts to expand in overseas markets.

BYD Explorer No. 1 is the first vessel in BYD's fleet, capable of carrying 7,000 vehicles. The vessel was put into service in January 2024 and is chartered by BYD from another shipowner.

BYD Hefei is BYD's first car carrier as a shipowner and the first vessel named after one of its vehicle production bases, with a capacity of 7,000 vehicles.

BYD Hefei was completed in late September 2024 and began its maiden voyage on January 7 this year.

BYD Changzhou was launched in October 2024, becoming the second BYD vessel named after a vehicle production base following BYD Hefei.

BYD Changsha is the fifth vessel in BYD's fleet and its second car carrier capable of carrying 9,200 vehicles. On March 17, the company announced that BYD Changsha was set to be launched soon.

BYD Xi'an, BYD's sixth car carrier, was officially launched on April 2.

On May 20, BYD's seventh car carrier, whose name has not yet been disclosed, was launched. The vessel was built by Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited (GSI).

The BYD car carrier can accommodate up to 7,000 vehicles.
