Nio (NYSE: NIO) has shared the start time of the launch event for the facelifted ES6 SUV (sport utility vehicle) and EC6 coupe SUV (sport utility vehicle), as both models are two days away from launch.
The launch event for the facelifted ES6 and EC6 will begin at 7:30 pm Beijing time (7:30 am US Eastern time) on May 16, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced today on its social media accounts.
Prior to that, Nio will conduct a live video streaming event about the facelifted ES6 and EC6 starting at 3:00 pm Beijing time on the same day.
The launch event for the two facelifted models will be held online only, with the live video streaming taking place on the Nio App, as well as on the company's accounts on social media platforms including Weibo, WeChat, and Douyin.

This will be one of the few cases in China's EV market where a new model launch event will be held online only, possibly in part to save costs.
The company is aiming to see a single-quarter profit in the fourth quarter of this year. Its sub-brand Firefly also held an online-only launch event when it launched its first model on April 19.
Nio started accepting pre-orders for the facelifted ES6 and EC6 as well as the ET5 and ET5 Touring on May 10 in China.
Show cars of the updated ES6 and EC6 are already available at Nio showrooms. Show cars of the updated ET5 and ET5 Touring will be available at Nio showrooms from May 22, and their official launch will be on May 25.
Customers who pay RMB 5,000 ($690) to reserve any of the four models now will be rewarded with RMB 1,000 worth of credits upon delivery.
Nio did not mention the prices for the facelifted ES6, EC, ET5, and ET5T, which are expected to be available at the official launches.
The 2024 ES6, EC6, ET5, ET5 Touring were all available in just one regular variant each, with starting prices of RMB 338,000, RMB 358,000, RMB 298,000, and RMB 298,000 respectively.
Since their launches, the ES6 and EC6 have gained nearly 370,000 customers, leading China's premium all-electric SUV market, the company said earlier this month.
The updated ES6 and EC6 will bring a more luxurious, smarter and safer traveling experience, Nio said.
The updated ET5, ET5 Touring will be upgraded in terms of design, space, handling and intelligence, it said.
There are minor tweaks to the exteriors of these facelifted models, with the main changes focusing on the interiors, according to information previously announced by Nio.
They will use a horizontal center screen instead of the previous vertical one, and will use Nio's own Shenji autonomous driving chip.
