IM Motors, the electric vehicle (EV) unit of SAIC Motor Corp, has rolled out the updated IM L6 electric sedan, with the starting price of the entry-level version unchanged but the more expensive variants seeing price cuts.
The updated IM L6 is offered in four variants -- Max, Max+, Pro Max, and Ultra -- at official guide prices of RMB 219,900 ($30,540), RMB 234,900, RMB 254,900, and RMB 279,900, respectively.
IM Motors is offering limited-time discounted prices for the model, bringing the starting prices of these four variants down to RMB 204,900, RMB 219,900, RMB 239,900, and RMB 264,900, respectively.
The IM L6 was initially launched on May 13, 2024, when it was offered in five versions with starting prices of RMB 219,900, RMB 259,900, RMB 275,900, RMB 305,900, RMB 345,900 respectively.
IM Motors offered a limited time discount of RMB 20,000 for the electric sedan, bringing the actual starting price down to RMB 199,900 at the time.
Deliveries of the updated IM L6 will begin on May 19, IM Motors said.
The model is an all-electric mid-to-large-size sedan with a length, width and height of 4,937 mm, 1,960 mm and 1,474 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.
It is longer in length than its predecessor's 4,931 mm, with other dimensions unchanged.
All variants of the updated IM L6 are built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform. Its predecessor's least expensive variant was built on a conventional 400-volt platform.
The model is available in three single-motor rear-wheel drive versions, and a dual-motor four-wheel drive version.
The two less expensive variants are powered by motors with a peak power of 245 kW and a peak torque of 430 Nm and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
The other single-motor version packs a more powerful motor with 300 kW of peak power and 500 Nm of peak torque and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.
The highest priced variant is powered by dual motors with a total peak power of 579 kW and peak torque of 800 Nm and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.74 seconds.
The two less expensive variants of the updated IM L6 are powered by a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack with a capacity of 74 kWh and have a CLTC range of 690 kilometers.
The other two variants are powered by a lithium ternary battery with a capacity of 100 kWh and have a CLTC range of 850 km and 780 km respectively.
The model can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in as little as 16.8 minutes.
