Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) shared some numbers on Weibo today that show something noteworthy about its factories.

Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory completed capacity ramp-up for the updated Model Y in just six weeks, setting the company's fastest model ramp-up record, it said.

In the future, Tesla's North American factory is expected to see one Cybercab robotaxi roll off the line every five seconds, it said.

Factories are Tesla's best products, the US electric vehicle (EV) maker said.

Disrupting the vehicle production and manufacturing paradigm and adhering to the first principles of vehicle building are core strengths of Tesla that will be hard to replicate, it wrote on Weibo.

Tesla launched the facelifted five-seat Model Y in China on January 10, and production of the SUV (sport utility vehicle) at its Shanghai factory began on February 18. Deliveries of the facelifted Model Y began on February 26 in China.

It's worth noting that the Model Y's appeal in China seems to have declined with the emergence of more local competitors.

Chinese customers who buy any variant of the Model Y before June 30 can enjoy a five-year zero-interest financing plan, Tesla announced on April 22.

The increased promotion comes just three months after the launch of the facelifted Model Y in China.

Over the past few months, there have been multiple rumors of new Model Y variants coming.

On April 28, auto blogger @胖虎Shawn, who has long tracked Tesla's developments, said on Weibo that Tesla may begin production of a three-row seating version of the Model Y with an extended wheelbase in May.

On March 14, Reuters reported that Tesla would begin mass production of a lower-priced Model Y, internally codenamed "E41," in 2026 at its Shanghai factory.

The revamped Model Y is currently available in China in two variants, including a rear-wheel-drive version with a starting price of RMB 263,500 ($36,400) and a long-range all-wheel-drive version with a starting price of RMB 303,500.
