Fang Cheng Bao will debut its sedan lineup this year as the (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) sub-brand works to expand its product matrix.

Fang Cheng Bao's sedan lineup will debut at the end of this year, the brand's general manager Xiong Tianbo said in an interview with local automotive media outlet Dongchedi.

The new Tai lineup will launch more models later this year, Xiong said, according to a Dongchedi report on Friday.

Fang Cheng Bao officially launched the Tai 3 all-electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) on April 16, the first model in its Tai lineup.

With a starting price of RMB 133,800 yuan ($18,360), the Tai 3 is the brand's least expensive, expanding its product coverage from off-road SUVs to also include family SUVs.

Fang Cheng Bao's two previous models, the Bao 5 and Bao 8, were hybrids aimed at the off-road market.

The brand unveiled the Super 3 concept on April 16, 2024, and subsequently filed for a production version of the model, the Bao 3. However, the Bao 3 was later renamed the Tai 3 as the first model in the Tai lineup.

Fang Cheng Bao's internal teams had many different views on the Tai 3's design, and it went through a lot of discussions before its mass production, Xiong said.

BYD officially launched the Fang Cheng Bao brand on August 16, 2023, and the brand's first model, the Bao 5, was launched on November 9, 2023, with deliveries beginning at the end of the same month.

Fang Cheng Bao initially utilized a direct sales model similar to many other EV startups, and introduced dealers in 2024.

With the addition of dealers, the channel coverage issue was solved, Xiong said.

For all of 2024, Fang Cheng Bao sold 56,388 vehicles, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

In March, Fang Cheng Bao sold 8,051 vehicles, up 126.79 percent year-on-year and 62.91 percent from February.

By the end of March, the brand's cumulative sales stood at 81,312 units.
