- Zeekr launched the Zeekr 001 shooting brake and the Zeekr X compact SUV in Egypt.
- Egypt is the second largest EV market in Africa and is Zeekr's first stop in Africa.

Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) has entered the Egyptian automotive market, launching two models there as the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker continues to push ahead with its efforts to expand internationally.
The company launched the Zeekr 001 shooting brake model and the Zeekr X compact SUV (sport utility vehicle) at an event in Egypt's capital, Cairo, on February 11, according to an announcement today.
The Zeekr 001 has a starting price of 2.7 million Egyptian pounds ($53,350) in Egypt and the Zeekr X starts at 2.1 million Egyptian pounds.
The Zeekr 001, Zeekr's first model, was initially launched in April 2021 and currently has a starting price of RMB 259,000 ($35,510) in China.
The Zeekr X was initially launched on April 12, 2023 in China. The company launched the 2025 Zeekr X on July 1, 2024, with a starting price of RMB 149,000 yuan.
Zeekr has opened its first Egyptian store in Cairo and plans to expand its local sales network to cover cities including Alexandria and New Cairo.
Egypt is the second largest EV market in Africa and demand for such models is growing rapidly, Zeekr's announcement noted.
This is Zeekr's first stop in the African market and marks a new milestone in the company's globalization process, it said.
To date, Zeekr has cumulatively entered more than 40 mainstream international markets, according to the company.
Zeekr delivered 11,942 vehicles in January, down 4.75 percent from 12,537 in the same month last year and down 56.08 percent from 27,190 in December, according to data released earlier this month.
The decline in monthly deliveries was mainly due to seasonal factors including the Chinese New Year holiday.
By the end of January, Zeekr's cumulative deliveries stood at 430,698 units, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
